This Lear 25 encountered strong crosswinds on landing and the right tip tank struck the ground.

Spectra Jet was called out to check the damage, after consulting the Structural Repair Manual, it was determined that the damage exceeded the minimum amount.

The aircraft was ferried to Springfield, Ohio and there the mechanics at Spectra Jet installed Learjet AMK 71-11a, external tip tank doubler.

A new coat of paint and the aircraft was ready to go.

When the tank struck the ground, the tip fin was bent up at about a 30 degree angle.

This photo shows the damage on the bottom of the tank looking up and aft.

The tip fin assy had to be stripped and completely disassembled.

New paint and the finished product is a tip that looks as good as new.
