Here are some suggestions when comparing quotes for maintenance:
1) Have all the shops that are sending you a quote list all the items in the same exact order, that way you can compare apples to apples, you'll need to make this a demand, not a request.
2) Consider, do all the quotes include:
- the cost of expensive parts required by the inspection or maintenance action
- time change items (these items are often left off a quote to keep the price low)
- X-rays or NDT (non-destructive testing)
- shipping of parts to and from repairs or ordering new,
- AOG and/or speciality services (such as a stall flight, etc.)
Remember: Beware of lower flat rate prices with higher discrepancy repair prices.
