January 2001
Spectra Jet, Inc. (CRS# X1JR161Y), located at Springfield / Beckley Airport in southwest Ohio has expanded their Learjet 35/36 Repair Station. The company received FAA certification on December 22, 2000 for Learjet 31/31a aircraft. This comes after the company proved to the FAA they possessed all the right stuff. Certification to add the Learjet model 60 is anticipated and soon after that, work will begin to add the Learjet model 45.
Since opening its doors to business in 1998 the company has sought more Learjet operators as clients. In six months leading up to certification, Spectra Jet completed over 50 jobs on Learjet 31's. Development of Spectra Jet's impressive mobile capability blended well with several clients.
Spectra Jet has two full time mechanics on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week to provide for unscheduled maintenance. This is another growth for SJI because last year, all three founders were part time at Springfield / Beckley while working another full time job.
Both John Yegerlehner and Mike Catherwood (two of the three founders) have been to FlightSafety Learjet courses to keep the quality of maintenance support exceptionally high. "We stand behind everything we do!" stated Catherwood, and " ...we hope to have several more mechanics hired on over the next year."
Anticipating additional growth in the area of aircraft inspections, Spectra Jet plans include its own 10,000 square foot hangar located in Springfield's Air Park Ohio. City officials are providing guidance to make the new hangar a reality in late 2001.
