Position Title: Airframe & Power Plant (A&P) Mechanic
Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Position Summary: Inspect, service, repair, troubleshoot, and overhaul aircraft engines to ensure airworthiness: Repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft structures, systems and functional components. Assemble and install electrical, plumbing, mechanical, hydraulic, structural components and accessories using hand tools and power tools. Adjust, align, and calibrate aircraft systems using hand tools, gauges and test equipment, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brakes, welding equipment, rivet tools, and drills. Identify any and all airframe corrosion and know steps necessary to solve corrosion issues. Perform basic non-destructive inspection task and document findings. Research and understand FAA technical data relevant to assigned tasks.
Responsibilities and Duties:
•Perform all work assigned in accordance with approved FAA data. •Must be able to complete proper documentation for work performed. •Ensure that all maintenance performed is in an air worthy condition. •Maintains the premises, repair station, and shop tools in a clean and organized manner. •Performs additional duties as requested by supervisor or other management personnel.
Education and Skills:
•Must have a valid Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License. •Must have strong written and verbal communication skills. •Must have basic computer skills.
Physical and Other Requirements:
•This is a safety sensitive position and is subject to pre-employment and periodic DOT/FAA regulations for drug and alcohol testing. •Must be able to lift 50 lbs. •Must have and maintain a valid driver’s licenses.
